The TN Time Bomb

Legal immigration may be more of an immediate threat to American middle-class workers than the illegal invasion.

President Bush intends to open our borders to unlimited migration with a new guest-worker visa program.  Did you know that as of January 1, 2005 the U.S. already has an agreement with Mexico and Canada to allow unlimited numbers of guest workers to invade our country and take our jobs? It’s called the

Trade NAFTA Visa (TN).

In 1994 NAFTA committed the United States, Canada and Mexico to phasing out trade barriers by January 1, 2009. A ten-year time bomb was inserted into NAFTA called the “Trade NAFTA” visa which allows unlimited numbers of Canadians to cross our border to take jobs in the USA. Mexico was restricted to 5,500 visas per year – until this year! The visa limit on Mexico expired January 1, 2005.

Mexico now has the right to send unlimited numbers of TN visa holders to the U.S.

Foreign workers from Mexico can now enter the US by claiming they are Mexican citizens who have jobs in the USA. Fraudulent documents are easy to obtain, and the large numbers of visas issued will overwhelm any attempts to control those who enter our country. The number of immigrants could be staggering because family members are also allowed entry. Visas are issued at the border so aspiring terrorists could use the TN visa as an easy way to enter the U.S. TN visas are just one of the many so-called nonimmigrant guest-worker visas. The large number of foreign workers that are allowed to take jobs from American citizens is tantamount to global labor arbitrage, and as you can see from the table below, the numbers of legal visas granted rival the one million illegal aliens that invade our country per year. Many of these so-called guest workers stay here so keep in mind that there nothing more permanent than a “temporary” nonimmigrant.
