JOB DESTRUCTION NEWSLETTER
February 12, 2006 No. 1419
Cox.net is blocking all newsletters from ZaZona.com. This morning,
after sending a newsletter titled "13 Articles Worth Reading", I got a
message like this on the bounced emails from everyone on my list who
uses Cox.net, so apparently they made the decision that nothing in my
newsletter is worth reading by you:
Could not deliver message to the following recipient(s):
Failed Recipient: scmenterprises@cox.net
Reason: Remote host said: 552 xZYG1T0290Gb1vB0000000 .1
Message refused due to your domains placement on known block list
These spam block lists have a way of propagating to other ISPs, so if
you haven't received newsletters from me lately it's possible that your
ISP is doing the same. If your case is isolated I will notify you
individually.
I had a problem with this with AOL in the past. Angry AOL users
contacted them and had ZaZona.com removed from their spam list. I am
sure that most of the time ISPs will back down if their customers
complain. I hope some of you Cox.net users do the same, because I will
be forced to remove you from my mailing list if the problem isn't
resolved.
Read my newsletters in the archive on AOL for more info:

It is a violation of your Constitutional rights to free speech when
your ISP prevents you from receiving this newsletter. Unfortunately
ISPs are doing this more often, and they put the burden on their
customers to correct the problem. These blocks are usually acts of
stupidity, but they can also be covert sabotage by someone who doesn't
want you to get the newsletter.
Cox.net users may wonder how they got this newsletter. I used another
email server to send this message out, but I can't use this one for all
newsletters. It's a temporary fix. There is nothing to stop Cox.net
from putting every email server I use on their spam list.
If you are a Cox.net user and want to continue to receive the
newsletter you have two choices:
1) Complain to Cox. Tell them that the newsletter is not spam and that
as a paying customer you don't appreciate their arbitrary censorship of
your email. Once they have stopped the email block on my newsletter let
me know so I can put you back on the list.
2) Change your email server to something other than @Cox.net and send
me the change. You may not be able to send me the change using Cox.net
if they refuse to allow you to send me emails. I don't know if the
block is two way. I would appreciate if a Cox.net user replies to this
email to test it. If you get a bounce, send me an email by using
NOSPAM@deru.com (replace NOSPAM with RS).
