There will be a debate about H-1B on CNBC tonight on Kudlow & Company. That
show is on at 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM ET. Kudlow's webpage is at:
http://moneycentral.msn.com/content/CNBCTV/TV_Info/P12129.asp

The debate will occur at approximately 5:40 pm, and will be between Rep.
Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) and Daniel T. Griswold, an economist with the
libertarian Cato Institute.

Here is some background on the debaters. I'll let you decide who the
villain in this debate will be.

Pascrell introduced a bill to reform the H-1B visa titled "Defend the
American Dream Act of 2005" (H.R. 4378). To see a Lou Dobbs video clip when
Pascrell introduced the bill go to:

<<<<< Daniel T. Griswold >>>>>

Griswold is a libertarian economist. He is a hard-core "free trade"
globalist that believes employers should outsource anything that can be
done cheaper in other countries, and he believes that employers should be
able to import workers into the U.S. with no restrictions.

To read what Griswold thinks about H-1B, read this:
"Let High-Tech Workers In!"
http://www.cato.org/dailys/3-30-98.html

Here are some typical quotes from Griswold:

"The choice isn't outsourcing or keeping jobs here, it's outsourcing or
going out of business. Which isn't good for jobs. This is an absolute
necessity for many companies."

"There's a growing chorus of complaints among IT workers, in particular,
that somehow the H1B workers are eliminating jobs here in the United
States, in fact, the U.S. typically creates a net one to two million
additional jobs each year."

"I do think that there's some scapegoating. When the economy turns down,
foreigners get blamed."

"The absurdly low H-1B cap is nothing more than a form of centralized
industrial policy. It represents an attempt by Congress to micromanage the
nation's most dynamic and innovative industry by dictating the composition
of its most important resource, human capital. Congress should lift the
H-1B cap so that America's high-technology companies can continue to create
wealth for all of us in a competitive and open market."

"A lack of qualified workers is forcing U.S. companies to postpone new
research projects. The answer is simple: Lift the cap on high-skilled
immigrants. Allow U.S. companies to hire the workers they need to get the
job done, whatever the workers' national origin."
