Topics discussed:
1. Legal "guest-worker" programs are more of a threat to the economic
security of the American middle class than illegal immigration. There
were over 17.3 million visa admissions in the 17 years from 1985 to
2002 in just five of these programs.
2. There are over 1 million aliens working in the US on H-1B and L-1
visas. These workers typically take high-paying white collar jobs. Most
of these jobs are in high-tech, medical, and education. These aliens
are taking
the choicest jobs from American citizens, and they will take the
technology and expertise back with them if they return to their home
countries.
3. At any given time there are at least 66,000 workers on H-2B visas
that take jobs in industries such as motels, resorts, golf clubs,
fishing, and other lower paying blue-collar jobs. Many of these visas
are used by employers that no longer want to hire college aged students
that need summer jobs. Ironically the same people that complain that
Americans don't have enough education are making it more difficult for
college students to work in order to pay increased tuitions.
4. The H-1B limit was raised from 65,000 a year to 85,000 in the recent
omnibus spending bill. The politicians that pushed this increase
through include Senators: Ted Kennedy (D-MA), Saxby Chambliss (R-GA),
Chuck Grassley (R-IA), and in the House Lamar Smith (R-TX).
5. There are large efforts by lobbying groups to increase the limit
again in 2005. Some of these groups include open border advocates such
as the US Chamber of Commerce and the ITAA.
6. The TN visa (Trade NAFTA) just became unlimited from Mexico. This is
a gigantic hole in our system that turns our Mexican border into an
open portal from anyone who can show up at the border and pose as a
Mexican. Currently large numbers of teachers and nurses are coming from
Mexico under this visa, and other white collar workers will follow.
7. The "free-trade" ideologues have a global agenda. Part of their
agenda includes open borders so that employers can transfer cheap labor
to any part of the globe. Trade agreements such as the FTAA are nothing
but open-border agreements in disguise. They are meant to break down
our sovereignty so that we no longer have control of our borders.
8. It's imperative that President Bush and all future presidents don't
have Trade Promotion Authority to push these agreements on us. Congress
will soon be voting whether to extend TPA to Bush for another two
years. They must be stopped.
9. President Bush's proposed guest-worker visa program will be the
final blow to the American middle class. It will force every US worker
to be in a constant state of global labor arbitrage with the multitudes
of the word's population. Bush's plan has no limits in numbers and
doesn't restrict what kind of workers can enter and from what countries
they can come from.
10. Arizona's Proposition 200 is a threat to the globalist plan to open
our borders to unlimited immigration. The globalists are very afraid
that Arizona's initiative will spread like wild fire throughout the
nation.
