My family dentist used to do all the cleaning and routine exams
himself, but over the years his business has grown. He now has a staff
of dental hygienists that do most of the work. Lately I have noticed a
disturbing trend - hygienists that are obviously H-1Bs.
Last year I had a cap put on a tooth, and guess who helped: the H-1B.
It wasn't a very positive experience. She bungled the fitting several
times and finally had to call the dentist for help.
My wife had a negative experience with two different H-1Bs at his
office including the one that bungled my cap, and since then told the
dentist office that she will no longer tolerate those two hygienists
She didn't accuse the dentist of using H-1Bs but specifically told me
that she will not be treated by those H-1Bs at Dr. B's office. This is
quite a surprise because normally she never mentions H-1B around me.
Today I scheduled an appointment with my dentist but I had no intention
of seeing an H-1B. As soon as I walked up to the receptionist and gave
her my ZaZona.com business card. On the card is a NO H-1B image with
the logo: "Find Out Why Offshoring and Guest-Worker Visas Destroy the
American Middle Class". The receptionist took into the office and I
noticed some muted murmurs and perhaps smiles.
The NoH1B image can be seen at:

This time the dentist did my entire dental exam and I never saw a
single hygienist. I forgot how good he was at his job!
I waited until Dr. B was finished to ask him about his H-1Bs because I
didn't want him to slip with that pointy probe. He told me that there
was a massive shortage of dental hygienists but denied that he has
hired any. I ended the conversation by asking him if he has noticed a
decline in his patients from Motorola (his office is very close to
Motorola). When he said yes I told him that Motorola claims that there
is a massive shortage of engineers and programmers.
