Sunny John only hires people of Indian Origin who are currently based
in the USA. He uses some interesting code words for specifying H-1B and
L-1 visa holders. The key phrase he uses is: "based in the USA". That
would seem to eliminate immigrants from India that are citizens because
they are now living here, not based here.

Sunny's flagrant bias is probably tolerated in New Delhi where he works
and he probably knows that hiring based on citizenship may be
considered discriminatory in the U.S. He uses the cute code words
instead of a more direct approach because he thinks we will never
figure out what he is up to. Here is a revision of Sunny's requirements
that gets right to the point: "The candidate must be an upper caste
Indian that is currently holding an H-1B or L-1 visa."

Bias of this type can't be classified as racist because Sunny probably
won't hire Indians once they gain U.S. citizenship. Job applicants of
Indian origin from Singapore probably wouldn't qualify either. This
discrimination is based on national origin and citizenship - not race.

Do any of you know a word that describes this type of discrimination?
I'm drawing blanks.

five key industry verticals - Finance, Insurance, Travel, Health,
Telecom; and provide end-to-end business solutions, developed and
customized by their team of business, technology and domain experts to
best service the clients specifications.

Job Profile: As a Business Development Manager, you will be
responsibility will be To identify, process and close new sales
opportunities within USA. Interacting with different level of Business
users/Clients. Dealing in both functional and technical domain. Growth
in relationship between the client and company. Financial Alliances
with partners and clients.

Candidate profile: BE/B.Tech, preferably MBA (from a premier
institute). Knowledge of the IT marketplace (BFSI) in the east coast of
USA. 5+ years of selling experience in the area of application software
services in the Financial Segment. Knowledge of the IT marketplace in
US Geography. Project and Account Management experience is also
necessary. Track record of selling services and value based
propositions in the Banking domain. Well-developed network of contacts
at CxO level in prospective Client Organisations (BFSI).

The candidate should be a person of Indian Origin and currently based
in the USA.
