Software Folks is a company that figured out how to solve the problem of
Indian workers not having the skills to take American jobs. Their
solution
is to import H-1Bs to the US, train them, and then ship them back to
India.
That's a very tidy solution. They don't even have to worry about the
hassles
of dumping American workers because they never hired them in the first
place.
So if you are wondering what's wrong with this arrangement, and not many
on
this mailing list will, H-1B is supposed to be used for the "dire
programmer
shortage" in the US, not India. This is a violation of the intent of the
law. Of course Enron executives violated the intent of the law too and
we
haven't seen much jail time being served.
